Following last week’s refusal by Taunton Deane of the resubmitted applications for more housing instead of employment at Station Farm, Taylor Wimpey have now withdrawn their appeals against the refusal of the first applications. Those appeals were due to have been decided by a Government-appointed Inspector at a public inquiry scheduled to be reconvened in September.
What happens now? Who knows? My best guess is that Taylor Wimpey will continue trying to market the employment land for that purpose, an effort they rather belatedly began a few months ago. Perhaps, once they’ve been able to show that they’ve tried to market it unsuccessfully for 12 months (the standard requirement) they’ll resubmit the applications. That would take us through to next spring so I’ll be keeping an eye out for whatever they try next. #JobsFirst!
