Cycle Path Plans Take Step Forward

Following the recent announcement of progress with the long-planned cycle path linking Bishops Lydeard and Cotford St Luke with Norton Fitzwarren and Taunton, I am very pleased with the fundraising effort now underway. We need to find £7,500 to pay for the feasibility study, which will examine land ownership and engineering issues together with the exact route and estimated construction costs. The fundraising exercise has been underway for 3 weeks and we have already reached the halfway mark! It’s a sign of just how popular the concept is. Please don’t sit back and assume that someone else will pay for the study or it won’t happen. Please donate via the cycle path’s Facebook page (Paypal) or by cheque to Quantock Eco Cycle Path c/o 5, Snathe Lea, Bishops Lydeard, Taunton, TA4 3PH. Just a few pounds each will get us over the line.

Once the feasibility study has reported and identified a viable route, we will then look to secure funding for construction from the developers of new housing in the area under the new Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).

Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far!
