SPEED REDUCTION MEASURES, BLACKDOWN VIEW, NORTON FITZWARREN

As part of the Taunton Trading Estate redevelopment, a legal agreement was signed that required the developer to fund and provide speed reduction measures on Blackdown View, Norton Fitzwarren. Local people will recall a previous scheme that was rejected following largely adverse local opinion. These plans replace that rejected scheme. Please see here for the plans. Hello Mike.
I think the idea for speed ramps in Blackdown View is most welcome, but having looked at the plans, I can’t understand why the ramp isn’t directly outside the school. Surly the proposed plan would allow traffic to speed up coming down the road and not needing to slow down before reaching the ramp coming up (having passed the school by then). I’d be interested to know the reasons why.

    Regards,

    Trevor Battle. 54 Blackdown View.
