Close, but no cigar….

When I first started planning my attempt to represent Bishops Lydeard on Taunton Deane Borough Council I thought around 1,000 votes would do it, banking on the fact that the three Conservative candidates, who each got around 1,200 votes last time would lose around 20% of their vote. I managed to persuade enough of you to get to my 1,000 target but the Conservative votes held up better than I expected, being off by about 10% so in the event I missed out by just 8 votes. Next time I plan to get 2,000 votes to make it properly safe!

On a more positive note I did get elected to the Parish Council and will do what I can to look after my village in the more limited role that such a position offers.

A big thank you to everyone who voted for me and the big group of leafletters, those who displayed boards and posters for me and, most of all, my campaign team Joe Kaczorek and Elena Campos Ingram.
