Mike Plants Trees at Bishops Lydeard PlayPark

Yesterday we took delivery of two new trees for the Village Green, a hornbeam, one of my favourite trees, and a flowering cherry.  We planted the hornbeam on the perimeter of the green near some young whitebeams and the cherry in the play park itself so that, as it grows, it will provide shade to the new picnic areas.  Following the exceptionally dry and and warm Spring (the fifth in a row now!) we had to bring in lots of water for the new trees as the ground was parched.  I have bought and planted most of the trees in the playpark over the last few years as I love the shade they provide in summer.
